Marmol, the brand

Marmol is the Hamburg studio of Araceli Cruz, known as Ari. Born in Chile and settled in Hamburg since 2019, Ari started Marmol in 2021 as a small personal project, soap making as a quiet moment for herself in the middle of the pandemic, shortly after becoming a mother. It grew from there into a full studio built around handmade cold process soap and creative workshops.

The name comes from the Catedrales de Mármol, the marble caves of Chilean Patagonia, chosen for what they represent: patience, strength, grace. Every soap Marmol makes carries a trace of that landscape, in shape, in color, in scent, alongside the Andes, the Atacama desert, and the Pacific coast. Ari sums up her own approach simply: she does not see herself as making products, but as making rituals.

Marmol soaps are made slowly, cured over six weeks, natural and vegan, produced in small batches in Eimsbüttel. Beyond the soap itself, Ari runs a full calendar of workshops and experiences around Hamburg, teaching soap making as a form of presence and reflection rather than a craft class. The studio's own line reads: made in Hamburg, by Chilean hands.

SLOY x Marmol: the partnership

SLOY and Marmol met at a design market at Designzentrum, tables a few steps apart. One side held bars of marbled soap, the other held holders shaped for exactly that kind of bar. The fit was obvious: Marmol makes the ritual object, SLOY makes the place for it to live.

SLOY is announcing the official start of a partnership with Marmol. Going forward, Marmol soaps will be displayed on SLOY soap holders at design markets across Hamburg and beyond, giving visitors an answer to a question soap alone never solves: what to set it on at home. Ari will also introduce SLOY soap holders to the people who come through her soap making workshops, a new audience discovering solid soap and solid soap storage at the same time.

The partnership now goes a step further: a curated selection of Marmol soaps is joining sloy.studio itself. Customers picking a Soap Holder Mini or a full-size Soap Holder can now add a Marmol soap straight to the same cart, a complete solid soap setup in one order, one parcel, one switch away from the plastic bottle.
